Sunset Park
Sunset Park has a tennis court, a skateboard/bike park, water park, and there are many other cool and fun things to do at Sunset Park for adults and children of all ages.
There is a Bar right in front of Motel. The Food Lion is only 3 miles away and nearby there is a Dollar Genral a quarter mile away. Domino's Pizza is less than a quarter of a mile away. There is also a Library, Wal-Mart, Hardey's and other fast food places and restarunts not to far away. also recreational parks and sport courts nearby.
The Amtrak Station
Rocky Mount Station was originally built in 1893 by the Wilmington and Weldon Railroad. After the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad bought the W&WR, they rebuilt the station between 1911 and 1912, and again in 1916. During the 1960s ACL built a modern structure within the station to store switches and signal equipment before the railroad was merged with the Seaboard Air Line Railroad to form the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad. It was named for Helen P. Gay, a 90-year-old former member of the Rocky Mount City Council who was instrumental in the station's most recent restoration project.
The Braswell Memorial Library
Braswell Memorial Library collects old and current materials pertaining to the history of Rocky Mount and Nash County for use in meeting the research, educational, and recreational needs of its patrons.
